Farah Mahmud
Syed (née Jafri) is a Pakistani lawyer (member of the
Punjab Bar Council and High Court Advocate).
She
has been
working with Gregory James in Canada for two
years as senior immigration advisor, focussing on
immigration to Canada for clients from all over the
world, but especially south Asia. Before joining Gregory
James she ran her own immigration agency in Pakistan and
Canada.
Farah Syed
has been practicing law in Pakistan since 1992,
including over seven years of experience with one of
Pakistan’s leading law firms, M/S Jafri Law Associates.
Farah Syed
has degrees from Punjab University Lahore in journalism
and history and in law.
She is a
resident of both Canada and Pakistan.
She has worked as a corporate manager in multi-national
corporations and as corporate negotiator for an
international trading, import and export company.
She has headed corporate
legal advisory and corporate communication boards, and
led corporate projects in recruitment, training,
development, wage management and industrial relations.
She has also
worked as administrator to Haqooq-e-Niswan, a
non-governmental organization specialising in family
law, domestic violence and destitute women.
She has
written articles for internationally renowned newspapers
including the The News (Pakistan) and Daily Jang. She is
a Freelance writer on sensitive & critical issues of
society to help children and women.
